Chances of admission to Cornell?
Cornell University is my #1 college choice, and I sent in my regular decision application. I'm really nervous about if I'm going to get in, because I don't know where else to go if I don't get in. I was wondering what you guys thought about my chances.
-I have a 4.0 unweighted GPA, taking the most challenging course load that my school offers (all honors and AP classes that I can.. which is only about five.)
-I've gotten 4's on all of my AP exams so far and am taking 2 more this year.
-Taken 3 other courses for college credit
-I am ranked first in my class with an unweighted GPA.
-Taken a 3 year Science Research course in which I completed my own original Scientific Research and wrote a Scientific Paper on my research
-Extracurriculars: Dance lessons for 13 years-2/3 days a week, recreational basketball, President of the Science Club and Student Council, Treasurer of the French Club, in National Honor Society, academic challenge team and involved in the drama club. I also tutor
SAT scores (not great): 1930/2400
or 1300/1600.
SAT 2 scores: US History-650, Chemistry-620, Math 2-660
ACT Composite: 30, 10 on the essay.
My recommendations were great, one coming from a teacher with a Ph.D.
What do you think my chances are?
Oh and in the Science Research course I met with professional scientists often and worked with them and conducted some research in a laboratory setting.
Oh and the college I want to get into in Cornell is the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences

I'd say your chances look pretty good, but you can never be sure of anything when it comes to college admissions. Some people get in with lower-than-average stats and some get rejected with higher-than-average. Keep in mind, your SATs are lower than the average Cornell accepted, but your ACT is on track and your extracurriculars will look really good. But, just in case you should always have 2 or 3 safety schools because you never know what is going to happen. If you don't have back-up schools, look at the princetonreview.com to find schools that are similar to Cornell with lower academic standards. Good luck!

Hey, they took me. How hard can it be to get in? Living in NY helps.
