Any Biblical verses, pertaining to animals having souls?

I am looking for any biblical verses pertaining to wether or not animals have souls. I'm a Christian, and love animals.

I truly hope that animals will be in heaven. But I was once told by another Christian that animals dont have souls and would therefore not go to heaven.

I sure hope that they were wrong...

I am hoping that some of you can give me some verses to look up and read to help me decide.

Thanks.

    No animals ARE souls..

When writing about the soul, the Bible writers used the Hebrew word ne′phesh or the Greek word psy·khe′. These two words occur well over 800 times in the Scriptures. When you examine the way “soul” or “souls” is used in the Bible, it becomes evident that this word basically refers to (1) people, (2) animals, or (3) the life that a person or an animal enjoys.

excellent question Jasmine... I dont beleive there any verses one way or the other.. but that doesnt matter because what you have to realize is that the Bible we have now resembles the original text in very few ways.. the original text was NOT written in verses and was NOT written in English.. it has been proven there are many mis-translations in it... also when it was put together, many "books" were disregarded.. so its not truely an accurate account.. plus of course it was written by man.. and we know man are flawed.. each with their own adgenda.. and its been edited and distorted through the years.. heck, King James was very well known to have done a lot of editing - changing things from the orgininal in his "version" PLUS lets not forget the bible contradicts inself so cannot be held as 100 % truth... (eg.. on one hand God gets tired and rests.. and in another instance God can never get tired and will never need rest... - it makes more sense to be that a God wouldnt ever tire - right?) people injected their own beleifs... Pagans and early people of religion (believers in God before the bible was written) considered some animals to be sacred.. this implies they have souls... you have to remember people ARE animals and God supposedly loves us all.. so why wouldnt animals have souls?? do not hold your entire faith in the Bible.. look at the world and judge for yourself...

Don't worry, you will meet the beloved animals you knew in life in Heaven when you go there. Just because something is not mentioned in the Bible does not mean it cannot be true. I myself know that animals go to Heaven, because my cat came to say goodbye to me after he had been run over.

I don't know if this helps but my RS teacher told me that apparently the previous Pope had decided that animals had souls.

God loves every single part of his creation. Why would he deny passage to all but one species?

And when I imagine Heaven, it's filled with mountains and rolling forests, with whales jumping out of the endless oceans and horses running across the plains.

How BORING would Heaven be without our animal companions there?

Any Christian who says that "No, animals definitely do not go to Heaven", have obviously never shared that special bond with an animal.

    Bible Verses On Animals

Genesis: all creatures that liveth and creepeth upon the land hath thee breath of life! What doeth not hath a soul art a dead thing! What is a creature if it hath not a soul? Those statements are in the Bible

anyone that says animals don't have a soul art a demon not a Christian though they may pretend or think they be Christian!

I believe its Isaiah chapter 10 or 11, where it mentions that the lion will lay down with the lamb, telling us that there will be no carnivores in Heaven. They will be there, but they won't be eating each other lol. This is proof that animals will go to Heaven. A lion cannot lie down with a lamb nor can the child put her hand into the vipers nest if they are not there, right?

    Animal Bible Verses

There are no verses about animals having souls. I'm afraid your friend is right, kind of. The reason it is "murder" to kill a human, but not to say, shoot a horse (say it broke it's leg, etc.). The horse doesn't have an eternal soul. That's where abortion gets so contentious - at what point is the soul imparted on the fetus? At conception? At birth? Somewhere inbetween? I'm not going to argue the point here, but my point is different Christians with different views on when the soul is imparted, may well disagree on wether or not abortion constitutes murder.

Many people have different ideas about what heaven is like. I personally think people get too hung up thinking about heaven in earthly terms - but we have no other frame of reference. If heaven just wouldn't be heaven without the long lost betsy-wetsy doll you had as a child, then perhaps it will be there? And if heaven wouldn't be heaven without fido at your side, well maybe he will be there too?

Sorry, no souls, but that doesn't necessarily mean no heaven.

Hi, I actually asked this same question recently. Not on R&S, but to a family member, because I was told the same thing. I have a toy poodle, and I cannot imagine him not being in heaven with me when we both pass. My mama always tells me she see's Freddy (her poodle who passed away a long time ago) with her Grandmother and her twin brother, so. I think they do go to heaven. Ever hear of that Rainbow Bridge poem? http://rainbowsbridge.com/Poem.htm -- Haha, and not to mention what someone already mentioned: All Dogs Go To Heaven!

Another thing, my father told me a long time ago the story of how ... God favored dog so much, loved dog so much, that he gave dog his own name: God ... Dog ... heh.

    I sure hope!

Also, while looking up other answers from people asking this before, I found this chosen as a best answer:

    GENESIS 9: 14-17

When I gather the clouds over the earth and the bow appears in the clouds, I shall recall the covenant between myself and you and every living creature, in a word all living things, and never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all living things. When the bow is in the clouds I shall see it and call to mind the eternal covenant between God and every living creature on earth, that is, all living things. `That' God told Noah, `is the sign of the covenant I have established between myself and all living things on earth.'

    ISAIAH 11:6-9

And the wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid, and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed, their young ones shall lie down together, and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice's den. They shall not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

    JOB 12:7-10

You have only to ask the cattle, for them to instruct you, and the birds of the sky, for them to inform you. The creeping things of earth will give you lessons, and the fish of the sea provide you an explanation: there is not one such creature but will know that the hand of God has arranged things like this! In his hand is the soul of every living thing and the breath of every human being!

    PSALM 50:9-11

I have no need of a bull from your stall or of goats from your pens, for every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird in the mountains, and the creatures of the field are mine.

    PSALMS 50:10-11

For all forest creatures are mine already, the animals on the mountains in their thousands. I know every bird in the air, whatever moves in the fields is mine.

    PSALM 136:25

...And who gives food to every creature. His love endures forever.

    PROVERBS 12:10

A righteous man cares for the needs of his animal

    ECCLESIASTES 3:19-21

Man's fate is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath, man has no advantage over the animal. Everything is meaningless. All go to the same place; all come from dust and to dust all return. Who knows if the spirit of man rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?

    LUKE 12:6

Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before god.

ALSO, if all of that isn't enough, I know something else was said about how all of the animals of the earth looked up to the heavens and said something about Glory to God or something! LKJSLKJSD It's late, I can't remember! But I'm pretty sure they go to heaven. I don't care what anyone else says.

I'm sorry to say that there are really no Bible verses that say that animals have souls. Though I personally believe that animals do go to heaven. I mean it says in Revelation that John saw lambs and lions in heaven! I hope that makes you feel better!
