horse boarding in california?

Does anyone know of a good western training type barn in the contra costa county area? Nothing outragously expensive cause it would be for two horses. and every where I look it ends up being an english/hunter barn. And how hard is it to find a place to keep a young stud? Hes 3 and never bred or anything, but I know alot of places wont keep them. Any ideas?

If I were looking specifically for a western barn, I'd go to the Pacific Coast QH Association website and contact them for a list of trainers in the area.

And having grown up in California, and hauling my horses from one end of the state to the other, in QH shows, I can tell you that western barns are all over the place.....you can't swing a dead cat without hitting one, so to speak.

Go to ohorse.com...lists stables/boarding scenarios in Contra Costa County.

  • Hossmoor (aka Cowgirl, Inc.) is in Martinez, CA

i have attended several western shows there and have gone there to try horses. they are both english and western, but it seems like a really great facility. i would definitely contact them if i were in your position.

regarding the 3 year old stud, i have no idea sorry.
