Which Champagne is better: Dom Perignon or Cristal?

They're both really good but totally opposite in style.
Dom Perignon is super refined with complex subtle flavors and a searing acidity in youth which mellows gracefully and grows in flavor intensity with about 10 years bottle ageing.
Cristal, on the other hand, is hugely flavored at bottling with ripe fruit and toasty, yeasty notes that clobber you over the head. it's better younger and doesn't have the fine balance for ageing.
I prefer the aged Dom P. over the Cristal at any age.

I haven't had an aged Dom but what I've had was extremely boring and devoid of flavor. I shall try an aged one and also a Cristal but while I have refined taste in wines... I am glad I have immature taste in champagne (so far)

Dom Pérignon is commonly known as the Father of Champagne. He was the first to produce this "white" wine from red grapes. Dom Pérignon, Moet &Chandon, and Veuve Clicquot are all well known for being from the finest regions and highest quality. Cristal was known mainly as just being produced in a clear bottle with a flat bottom. Cristal tastes fine to me, but it lacks much of the character seen even in cheaper champagnes.

Dom Perignon...by far!
Cristal is disgusting (in my opinion.) But while we are on the subject of "Brut," I think Veuve Clicquot (Yellow Label) and Perrier Jouët are two of the best champagnes out there!

Dom P definitely...as the other answer said, if you like the fruity flavor go with Cristal, but aged Dom is by far a better champagne. i like '98 and '99 personally.

I've not had Cristal, but have had Dom Perignon and I would rather have a $17 bottle of Korbel than Dom. I've had it on several occassions and it is not worth the price at all.
