Christians: what are your favorite promises made by Jesus?

I'm working on a study, in which I am evaluating what Jesus taught his disciples. Along the way, I see that there are promises included in many of his teachings.

I'm curious which promises give other Christians the encouragement they need to follow Christ.

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matt. 11:28).

And I will pray to the Father, and He will give you another He will give you another Helper [the Holy Spirit], that He may abide with you forever (John 14:16).

Interesting question. It made me think twice because I do not dwell on promises made by Jesus, I just dwell on his teachings as to what we are supposed to do, or not supposed to do.

He wanted us to follow his example but sadly being non-judge mental, non-prejudiced, loving, kind, forgiving etc.

does not seem to be the way many people want to live.

I do however, try to live this way, not because of any rewards that may be mentioned, but because I choose to try and be the best I can be, to follow in Jesus "footsteps".

By the way, I do not belong to any religious group, and I follow Jesus, Buddha etc. anyone who has tried to teach us how to live a more peaceful and loving life.

As a Unitarian, I remember when Jesus Christ promised to be there for His followers, for He hath commandeth his own disciples to follow him. He promised to be there for anyone who follows him in unconditional faith, for those who call upon mein their times of need shall be saved. We shall strive to be one with Christ and share in His everlasting glory.

At the same time, I am concerned about your study. You are concerned about the ways we regard the promises of Jesus Christ when he was betrayed by Judas and died on the Cross as if He would somehow break His promises by error or other involontary circumstaces. Verily I tell you that wehn Jesus said "All that I have is thine," He meant it. When he siad "Love your enemies," He did not say, "Do not have any." Since you are asking this question for your study, I challenge you to convert to Star Wicca, the true Gnostic path of the New Age movement. By becoming a Unitarian would you tackle the true sources of the Bibl;e and revise the study to where teh term papers would beexpanded to include Biblical prophecies, commandments and other workds of Christ to where you will excell beyond imagination. Asking the Christians about their views on Christ or their favorite promises of Chrsit is not good, for it is both heresy and blasphemy, since you are at risk for being a heretic. The views of Jesus are very personal for a Christian, and by asking your fellow JChrsitains such a quesiton would contradict the greater truth of life, that Jesus died on the Cross for our sins. Please be a Unitarian so as to be more honest and decent about your spirituality. Do it for God.

Source(s): Religion is a personal committment. Convert to Star Wicca so as to avoid persecution and heresy, so as to be seen as an angel of light, so that Christ will have power over you.

    Revelation 20

6Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

    John 6

47I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life.

    Revelation 2:7,11,17

7He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

11He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death.

17He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it.

    Revelation 3:5-6,12,20-21

5He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels.

6He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

12Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it.

20Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.

21To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.

    Revelation 2:26

26To him who overcomes and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations

    Psalm 149:1-9

1 Praise the LORD,Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the saints.

2 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King.

3 Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with tambourine and harp.

4 For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation.

5 Let the saints rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds.

6 May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands,

7 to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples,

8 to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron,

9 to carry out the sentence written against them. This is the glory of all his saints. Praise the LORD
