Did you know the Lord is mentioned once in the Constitution?
"Done in Convention by the Unanimous Consent of the States present the Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven and of the Independence of the United States of America the Twelfth In witness whereof We have hereunto subscribed our Names..."
-Article 7
If the writers had felt that "our Lord" should not appear in the Constitution wouldn't they have left it out?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy are their some who think this country was not founded as a Christian nation?
"It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religion, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For that reason alone, people of other faiths have been afforded freedom of worship here." - Patrick Henry 1776
"We have staked the whole future of our new nation, not upon the power of government; far from it. We have staked the future of all our political constitutions upon the capacity of each of ourselves to govern ourselves according to the moral principles of the Ten Commandments." - James Madison
"The highest glory of the American Revolution was this: it connected in one indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity." - John Quincy Adams 1821
"Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence on Thee. We beg Thy blessings upon us and our parents and our teachers and our country. Amen." - Public School Prayer until 1962
22 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDid the Holy Spirit teleport Philip in Acts 8?
Acts 8
39 When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing. 40 Philip, however, appeared at Azotus and traveled about, preaching the gospel in all the towns until he reached Caesarea.
It certainly sounds like it. Did it happen like in Star Trek?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow can anyone say Jesus is not God when the scriptures call Him the Author of Life?
Acts 3:15
You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.
24 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDo all atheists believe that after death there is nothing, or...?
...can one be an atheist if they have no opinion on what happens after death?
What is one called if the have a "whatever happens, happens" attitude.
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHave you ever seen or heard of a case where a child needed to be aborted to save the life of the mother...?
...and the child could not be saved because it was too early in the pregnancy? In other words has a woman ever become pregnant and continuing the pregnancy past something like 20 weeks would cause her to die?
I think whenever this is the situation it is late enough in the pregnancy that the child can be saved, thus meaning a choice must be made between mother and child.

I'm confused about the whole thing.
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDo you tithe?
Why or why not?
Malachi 3:10 "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it."
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAlas and did my Savior bleed and did my Sovereign die?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDoes not Jude 4 prove "once saved, always saved" is a false teaching?
Jude
4 For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.
19 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIs it considered gluttony to eat more than 2500 calories a day?
I eat between 3000-5000 a day usually and I am not overweight and I become very tired and/or hungry if I eat less than 2000.
Is this alright?
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDo fairies bite?

7 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoDo certain religions forbid perfumes, deodorants, certain soaps, etc.?
I ask this because I have seen mentioned the fact that occasionally one runs into people of certain racial backgrounds who smell unpleasing. Is it their faith that is the cause of this?
I am of course not referring to those who are impoverished or live in Pre-Industrial or early Industrial countries.
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDid you think Terminator SCC sucked tonight?
There was like no action, it was like watching some crappy after-school special. If the next one is as boring as this episode I don't think this show will be on in the Fall.
Is it too much to ask for some senseless violence?
