i think that it could go either way really. i was raised around my parents swearing all the time(at traffic, people, etc) and i started to swear alot when i was young but as of now i just think it is stupid and makes you look like an immature retart. most people should grow out of it at around 15 but if they dont then what ever.
there are some people that are raised around swearing and they will swear everyday like its some cool word that you should use in every sentence.

From personal experience around my Friends no. I mean everyone swears sometime or another but the people around it all the time use it in moderation or what can be considered better circumstances however people who weren't use it in the dumbest way and way too often. Sorry for the run on's I'm in a hurry.

It's sad but true. When someone is exposed to something they tend to acquire the same taste. I think swearing is not something that should be held on to but letting a word slip or two is fine. People should try not to swear if they wish to have class.

YES!!!!!!!!! My little cousin swears like I've never heard before, and he's only 3 years old. He knows all the swear words and uses them properly. At first it was kind of funny, but then he tells people in stores to F*** off, and he tells me when you lose at video games, you have to say God Dammit. His father swears like crazy, so I figure that he gets it all from him.

I think in general, yes they do. However, some learn from their parents mistakes. My father could make a sailor blush with the language he uses, but I've always thought that swearing makes a person sound uneducated and I hate doing it so I almost never do....unless I'm really mad. :)

I think it can go either way. I've heard little kids use it all the time, because of their parents. People like that usually grow out of it though.
However, you could argue that because they've been exposed to it, they don't see it as something fun, exciting, or forbidden. I knew many kids who swore like sailors just because it was forbidden at home. For example, in Europe, children drink wine at a very young age, so they're not as inclined to overdo it when they're older.
Have a nice weekend! :D

No, because my cousin's parents never sweared in English yet she swears like a sailor. It must be her friends.

When my daughter was little , I didn't stop swearing .. but i did teach her about it ... that it can offend people.. and that you need to be able to control it...

I do not have any professional statistics, but I am sure that even if you are just around it for a short period of time you tend to pick it up. Even as an adult if you are around it you will just pick up saying it.

yes. if the people you are around swear, then most likely, so will you.
