The Amero is actually a fantasy coin that is produced and sold by Engraver David Carr on his web site http://www.dc-coin.com./ These coins are quite beautiful and are produced annually in copper, silver and 24kt gold.

Interesting debate; read both sides and drew this conclusion:
The Amero is fake, as fake as Pam Anderson's chest, lips, hair, nails, butt, and career.
