If we are begotten again by God's mercy...?

to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled reserved for us in heaven and His mercy endures forever, why do some christians believe that we can overcome God's eternal mercy and corrupt the incorruptible?

Update:

I think that if we interpret the Scripture correctly it is an error to believe that the Holy Spirit can dwell with any sin...never mind the "degree". Thus the value of the Blood is supreme and sufficient. Why do we pick and choose the sins that will cause the Spirit to vacate the temple? Perhaps for self glorification?

Update 2:

Or maybe self assurance?

Rightly DIVIDING the word of God is the biggest problem. People forget that Jesus was born under the law, and when he said things like, Matt 5:27-28, "Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery::: BUT I SAY UNTO YOU, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after hath committed adultery with her already in his heart", the law was still the means of salvation; He had not yet died, and rose from the grave. Grace had not yet been shed abroad for the sins of the world.

Through such statements, Jesus was showing us just how hopeless salvation, through OUR works, is to obtain. What was meant by, "Wherefore the law was our SCHOOLMASTER to bring us unto Christ"; Gal 3:24? Through trying to keep the law without fault, we were taught that we are in need of a Savior, because it is impossible for man to keep it. Jesus' perfect life is our righteousness, because we have none of our own with which to merit eternal life.

Romans 11:26, "And so ALL ISRAEL SHALL BE SAVED: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant with them, when I shall take away their sins"; Jer 31:31 & Heb 8:8.

Romans 10:1, "BRETHREN, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, THAT THEY MIGHT BE SAVED".

Do these 2 verses contradict each other? No!!! They are to be "rightly divided": Romans 10:1, is speaking about them being saved from "being ignorant" that they are covered in God's righteousness, and "going about to establish THEIR OWN righteousness" for their eternal salvation. Verse 2, "For I bear them record that they have a zeal OF God, BUT NOT ACCORDING TO KNOWLEDGE". Paul wanted them to enter into the REST which God has for his people; Rest from their own works, Hebrews 4:3, "For we which have believed do enter into rest", (9), "There remaineth therefore a rest TO THE PEOPLE OF GOD". (10), "For he that IS entered into HIS REST, he also HATH CEASED FROM IS OWN WORKS, AS GOD DID FROM HIS". Ceased from depending upon works for eternal salvation, and depend upon Grace, the righteousness of God.

Romans 11:26, is speaking about the eternal salvation for ALL of Israel, through God's promise to Abraham.

If you haven't done so lately, read Steven's beautiful words written in Act 7:2-60.

For the same reason the Holy Spirit vacated the Temple in Jerusalem at the death of Christ.

There's some things that God refuses to be part of.

Anyone who expects the Holy Spirit to remain present in their soul while they engage in heinous sin and other types of debauchery isn't thinking straight.

Maybe they are wondering why nobody is able to prove that this undefiled, incorruptible inheritance (which is only, oddly enough, attainable *after* death) exists, and maybe they're a bit nervous as to whether or not they really *do* have the Golden Ticket if it does.

    At least, I would be.

Because people who believe that are not Christian, if they actually believe that in their heart, if I am reading this right.

God cannot be corrupted, He is perfect. People can be corrupted however, and will only be saved if they accept Jesus Christ as their savior in their HEART, not just in their words.

Simple: we aren't. God is a fiction, so the concept of mercy is not applicable.
