....family.....friends... hobbies and interests. Do you strive to improve yourself for no one other than yourself?

Most Definitely! Without passion/love for a job you are little more than a robot doing something for a pay stub. If you truly love your job then everything begins to flow from that.......trying daily to not only do your best but to do it with perfection. This gives you not only a purpose, but satisfaction and contentment......it will overflow into your personal life and effect everyone around you. The thing to be careful about is not to allow it to become an addiction to the point you shun everyone else and neglect your life away from work.

Yes. I have a passion for Charity. Which is one of my greatest Hobbies. I try to involve my friends in family in my quest as well. Like this year, I am collecting Christmas Cards for recycling, which I will be mailing to a Children's Hospice in England. So far, I've got 10 people! II also started a "Coins for Kids" Campaign 3 years ago...and it just feels good that even the two guys at the Post Office are saving their coins for me to donate! :)
I strive to help the charities I donate to. :) I do it because I love it. :)

Yes, and thanks for asking. I had a passion to help people, and through odds not in my favor, was able to successfully finish a Master's Program as a Psychotherapist. I worked days and went to college at night, for years, and with very limited income. But I did it, with a passion. I then traveled 2 hours nightly, after the degree, to pursue education and certification as a Counselor for alcoholics/drug addicts. The passion drove me, when I thought I could never make that trip to Santa Barbara for the classes.
I work at improving myself with a passion; when depressed, I took short classes to focus on other than my problems. I enjoyed flower arranging and then was able to give my home-grown flowers to others, with a passion for their happiness.
I now volunteer at a local hospital, and love helping the people. I work in the surgical waiting room, and comfort those who are waiting for loved ones to come out of surgery. I can't walk at times, due to medical problems, but find a way to get to work for a few hours.
Everything I have done, I now realize I did it with passion, or not at all. When I read, I read an entire novel, because it is the momentary passion; later I may paint for awhile, or visit a neighbor. Life, to me, is one big passion, and I'm always wondering what lies just around the corner.
Thanks for asking.

Yep, I love my job because my job is my hobby. =)
I strive to get better at it almost everyday. Making ~10K a month is a bonus but I would do it even if I was making $10 a month.
