VA Assistance?

My father served in the USAF during the first Gulf War. I've been told that it makes me eligible for VA assistance.

First off, does that still apply when I'm 27?

Second, what can the VA do assistance-wise?

Thirdly, if I could apply, would it morally be right, as I cared little for my father when I lived with my family?

Serious answers, if you please.

Update:

Additionally, the naysayers should be told that though the TRICARE and CHAMPVS programs offered though the VA, family members can receive some medical treatment.

You are not eligible for VA assistance simply because you have done nothing to earn that assistance.

answer to first question is i don't know.

you must apply to the VA to be accepted into

there program. this can take a long time because

they have vet's applying all the time.

if you can apply it is morally correct. it has nothing

to do with relationships or family. if your qualified then

apply. find out where the closest VA hospital or clinic is

and apply. you will either be accepted or not!

VA benefits are ONLY for former servicemembers, and not even all of those qualify. There are no VA benefits for dependents or former dependents of servicemembers. Your information is wrong.

age does not change anything. va benefits like mortgage, medical, pharmacy etc. contact va directly for list of benefits and rules.

he still is your father, whether you are /were close or not it is something you have access to. maybe nothing you want to use. decide what is right for you
