I think you are making a huge generalization here........Some people just are never happy, no matter what they get. The man in your story was out of line, for sure, but that has nothing to do with him being black, it has everything to do with him being RUDE. I almost always receive something wrong whenever I eat at a fast food type establishment.........if you were being paid the small change these workers are, would you really care if you did everything absolutely correctly? How you handle the situation is a personal choice......and has nothing to do with race. i think it is all just you. It would nice of you to step in, but trying to start a fight isn't the answer either.....that definitely won't help the man to see where he was wrong. And I also really think that the fact the girl was a "beautiful Latina" has absolutely no bearing on your story....other than kinda pointing out that YOU notice race........and that's what you are basing your generalizations on.

Explain to me how this guy is 90% of all "afro-americans" and then I can better answer that part of your question.

Was he wrong? Yes. Was he a jackass? Absolutely. Was it good of you to step in and stand up for the girl? Absolutely again. I commend you for that.

Now, the big question: Did his behavior have anything to do with his ethnicity? NO. A@$holes come in all colors.

Now, before you start making up more statistics to back your faulty hypotheses, chew on this one for a few:

Why is it that 90% of people who start a sentence with "I'm not racist, but...", actually ARE? And why does that percentage jump to (oh, I don't know, since we're just making up numbers here anyway) 98% when they start talking about how they have black friends?

Have you conducted a survey recently? Done extensive research? No? Oh, than you have absolutely no right to make statements like, "90% of all AAs...." That is really disrespectful.

I work in a restaurant and have seen far more white people be rude as hell than I have seen African American people be rude.

What this guy did was really rude. However, this is an isolated incident. I've witnessed far worse things happen in restaurants, and none of those incidents were with African American people. It's usually stuck up, white people with an entitlement mentality who think they are running ****.

I don't mean to be so rude, but I can't stand posts like this. My brother is half white and half African American, and TO THIS DAY, he get's called the N word and people put him in this box as though all black people are the same....

I have worked in fast food and I know what youre talking about, but its not just black folks. Most of the time it is a**wipes that are trying to get stuff for free. I finally have to threaten to call cops on some. My experiance has been similar but I never really have super rude Asian customers. I wonder why that is?

I think 90% is an exaggeration...its like we see the big fat black guy yell at the "beautiful latina" for something stupid and assume that 90% of blacks are that way. Don't get me wrong, I'm not condoning his actions, but I used to work in customer service and witnessed whites give hell to reps far more often than anyone else, and over the dumbest crap (the rep was usually following management protocol). I never just assumed that most whites are that way, I took each individual for who they were.

I agree with everyone here...we shouldn't generalize based on race. Race usually doesn't determine personality. There are rude and thoughtless people of all colors. I've worked in retail and I've been yelled at and threatened by almost every ethnicity you can think of...Caucasian, African-American, Asian, Russian, Persian, etc. Most of the time, it's because I won't break company policies for them.

Actually I take that back...I've never had any problems with Latino customers. They were always nice.

You described one person. How in the H is that 90% of all AAs? Is he the official ambassador for black people or something? You're just trying to start mess. Find something more constructive to do with your time.
