Eat more! What you're eating right now is NOT healthy!

If you eat less than 1200 calories a day, your body thinks it's starving and works even harder to retain what you already have on your body. You're a lot LESS likely to lose weight if you eat that much! The reason why you're gaining weight and losing weight so easily is because of the low caloric intake you have. Any weight you lose eating that little is water weight, and as soon as you drink water or eat anything (or breathe too hard, for crying out loud, lol), the weight will come right back.

Try eating about 1500 calories a day and keep exercising the way you are. That way, your body can distribute your calories better, but still burn off what is unneeded. Also, make sure you're getting a good amount of fiber and protein, and drink LOTS of water! The weight should come off and stay off this way. :)

    Good luck!!

It's great that you want to get healthy. Some people want to, but don't do anything about it. For starters, I wouldn't make a goal of losing 35-40 pounds. Unless you plan on having that goal for about a year...it's kind of unrealistic. You should try thinking of it in another direction like...I want to look my best and start living healtier. Something like that that won't lead to disappointment. You know?

A good point to focus on is portion control. And I'm not saying count every calorie you intake. What I'm saying is don't go off and eat the whole cake, eat a small piece. Eat a big salad and get some protien in, then go for a small piece of cake. You can eat anything you want if you have portion control.

It's great that you're working out. What exactly are you doing? Maybe if you're only focusing on your abs or arms or something, you should focus on cardio things like running for 25 minutes then maybe weight lifting. Make sure to switch up your routine! It gets boring running the same trail over and over, then going home and doing 100 crunches.

Also, never get down on yourself. That will only make you less likely to want to work out and improve yourself.

The fac that you are only eating 900-1200 calories per day contributes GREATLY to weight-loss complication. The human body produce as much proteins and necessary cholesterol as it needs in order to carry out its natural biological tasks. Without enough calories per day, and without proper and/or enough excercise to warm the body up to keep its properties properly function, the body will automatically produce BAD cholesterol and when you eat the body will absorb more of the unhealthy stuff in the food. My recommendation is at least 1800-2100 calories per day and treadmill at least 4 times a week each time need to be at least 30-45 minutes. Eat healthy and have fun.
