Swollen gland, any ideas?
At least I think it's a gland...
I've had swollen glands in my neck before when I've had a sore throat, but this lump is hard and tender to touch. I noticed it just over an hour ago, but it's only on one side of my neck, not the other.
I just recovered from a cold and have had a rather nasty headache today. Does this seem strange to anyone? Or is it pretty normal and nothing to get worried about?
Thanks in advance for answers! :)

I hope it's normal, because I have had a swollen gland for three (almost 4) months. My right tonsil is swollen as well, but the doctor says it has nothing to do with my tonsils. Are your tonsils swollen as well? Have you ever had your tonsils or adenoids removed? That might be something effecting your glands.

You should go to your doctor and get tested for mono.
Lymphadenopathy (swollen gland on one side) is an important symptom in mononucleosis. You should check it out soon because you can be contagious at the moment.
...or it may be just your body fighting the cold- but sounds to me to be more severe than that.
