  • Could he be teething already?

My baby turned 11 weeks yesterday, but for the last week I have been able to see a white spot on his lower gum.

Today I saw two more white spots have appeared. Also he is pretty grumpy and trying to chew everything that gets near his mouth (including his hands) and it's not because he wants to nurse. I just gave him some Calpol (infant paracetemol) and he has perked right up.

If he'd been older, I would have assumed he was teething, but as he's only 2.5 months, I really didn't think it would be happening already. Isn't 3 months the absolute earliest? Have you had any children that teethed earlier than that?

  • Bleeding after birth, did I get a period?

I had my son four weeks ago. By three weeks, the bleeding had gone right down, it was light brown in colour and I thought it was about to stop. But then it got heavier and bright red, with a few little clots the first few days. That also settled down and has now stopped, but it lasted for about 5-7 days. My health visitor said it could have been a period, but I am exclusively breastfeeding. What is your experience, do you reckon it could be a period already?

  • First visit to the doctor?

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 15 months now and I've decided its time to see a doctor. What should I expect from a first visit? How should I prepare myself? I'll take the details of my cycles, but from experience, is there anything you'd advise?

Thanks in advance for answers :)

  • Text formatting in Y! Answers?

Does anybody ever feel that they would appreciate more options when typing on here? For example, perhaps I really want to stress a point, but all I can do is use CAPS, which looks like shouting. I'd love it if I could use italics and bold text. Does anybody agree? Got any other ideas? I'd also like to be able to use some mathematical operators, but maybe that's just me! :D

  • Thinking of selling white gold engagement ring.?

The ring is 18 carat white gold, I can't remember quality of the diamond. It was priced £500 roughly 3 years ago. It has been worn but I can get it recoated and polished (for free) before trying to sell it.

Does anyone know where the best place to sell it is (all I can think of is ebay!)? Any ideas as to how much I'd get for it?

Thanks in advance for answers :)

  • Webcomic review?

I'm sure you all get a bit sick of being asked to look at people's art... But, what do you think of my new webcomic? There are just three comics at the moment, because the page navigation isn't set up properly.

Comments on the comic itself and website are much appreciated. :)

  • Would you rather..?

Would you rather only eat your favourite food for the rest of your life, or never eat it again?

And... what is your favourite food?

  • Is anyone else boycotting Valentine's Day?

Ok, I know it probably sounds really mean, but me and hubby are not 'doing' Valentines day this year.

We both really dislike the commercial, cheesiness of it all. We also figured we show our love and appreciation for each other all the year round (and we do make a big thing of birthdays and anniversaries etc...) so there's no need to submit to the Hallmark Holiday ;)

And don't worry, he buys me flowers and chocolates fairly regularly through the year, so I don't feel like I'm missing out!

    Anyone else feel like this?

  • Blood test at doctors?

Please excuse the naive question but...

When you go to the doctors for a pregnancy test, do you get the result that day?

  • Trying not to get stressed out?

Ok, so I did all the sensible things that people advise you to do while trying to conceive... The one thing I'm still getting stuck on is chilling out!

We have been trying for 10 months, and every month I can't help thinking about it loads and stressing out about it. How on earth do I stop and just relax?!

I will give a best answer :) and I'd love to hear any of your personal experiences.

  • Time to see a doctor?

My husband and I have been trying to conceive since April '07 with no success. That's 9 months (not including January) and many more cycles, because my average cycle is 25 days.

I was previously on the pill, so was expecting to have to wait around 3-6 months for my cycle to settle down, but actually it's been pretty regular right from the start.

I am 20 and my husband is 25, so we really weren't expecting to have any problems and there is no history of infertility in our families.

We're also pretty sure we're having plenty of regular intercourse ;)

I've taken all the advice there is out there with no success. Do you reckon it's time for us to get checked out?

(I'm quite willing to hear your own personal story/experience.)

  • Swollen gland, any ideas?

    At least I think it's a gland...

I've had swollen glands in my neck before when I've had a sore throat, but this lump is hard and tender to touch. I noticed it just over an hour ago, but it's only on one side of my neck, not the other.

I just recovered from a cold and have had a rather nasty headache today. Does this seem strange to anyone? Or is it pretty normal and nothing to get worried about?

Thanks in advance for answers! :)

  • Why are my cat's farts so smelly?

I know cats fart. And sometimes it smells - but this is really bad! She seems to be passing wind more often also.

I haven't changed her food or done anything drastically different to the house. I don't think she's stressed out about anything. My other cat is perfectly fine.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?
