on the wii, you cant, you need a modded (modified) ps2 and a lot of time to write the songs.

OK. For the Playstation 3 and X-BOX 360, the game comes with a feature that allows you to download songs from online. Now for the Playstation 2, you need to program the songs into the game. I have done this before and it takes a little while at first. You need to have a custom (modded Playstation 2). This is a Playstation with a chip in it that allows you to play burnt Games. You also need DVD-R's and a computer with a DVD burner. This link is a guide to help you with the rest- http://nicksguide.malictus.net/GuitarHero/welcome....

You also need to make an account at scorehero.com. when you do this, the website gives you a free list of custom songs to choose from. I think right now there are several thousand of them.

It is a complicated and time consuming task. However, if your patient enough, you'll get the hang of it.

So far as I know there is no way to add your own songs. Every song has the notes you play put in by a level disign team. If you could just put in your own there would be no need for a development team at all. If you saw people putting in their own songs I would bet they are hacking the game and doing the level design themselves.

no of course not, plus that game is gay, only nerds play guitar hero, get a real guitar and play the real songs, instead of just pressing 5 buttons and moving a pivoting white thing with your fingers...guitar hero is for posers. trust me, real guitar is much more fun

    Try real guitar, seriously.

By the time to learn the pathetic "FREEBIRD ON EXPERT MODE ZOMG LOL!!q!@!@!" or whatever the f*** you people are talking about, you'll be able to learn a fun riff on a real guitar.

    Ever think of that?

Maybe say "F*** YOU" to the five colourful little buttons on the controller and encounter the possibilities of 24 frets for each string.

    Try it.

You have to know how to do game programming and stuff... I've seen it on youtube and stuff too... doesn't seem like your average person can do it though.
