    Hi,

For this question, we can multiply the constant multipliers separate from multiplying the variables. Therefore, we get:

    [ 6 ] [ 2 ] [ x ] [ x ]

Notice that 6 x 2 is 12 so therefore, we have:

    12 [ x ] [ x ]

Now, at this point, we need to multiply x times x and notice that they are the same variables [ bases ]. Therefore, since we are presented with this situation, we can add the exponents [ noticing that they're both with 1 as the exponent ] and preserve the base to get:

    FINAL ANSWER: 12x^2 [ or ] 12 times x-squared

I hope that helps you out! Please let me know if you have any other questions!

    Sincerely,

    Andrew

You multiply 6 by 2 and the two x's and get the answer.
