What style of poker do they play at the World Series of Poker?

I'm new to poker, and I've been trying to learn how to play. I've been watching the WSOP all day, but I'm not sure if they're playing Texas Hold'em or not. What style are they playing?

The main event is No Limit Texas Hold Em. In fact, most of the events are no limit texas hold em events. However, they also have pot limit and limit texas hold em, omaha, omaha hi/lo, stud, stud hi/lo and 2-7 triple draw and horse.

The Main Event for the World Series of Poker is Texas Hold 'em, but there are several events.

They have every kind of poker imaginable on the poker tour and in the WSOP. The only game they show the idiot wannabes on television is no limit Texas holdem, leading many to believe that is what the WSOP is all about when it isn't. That's just one main event of many.

World series of poker is texas hold'em.

Source(s): I watch WSOP evey time I get a chance to, and as far as I know it has always been Texas Hold'em.

World Series of Poker tournaments are generally Texas Hold 'Em, however, they do also play stud and draw poker.

It depends on which even you were watching.

The most televised is the Texas Hold Em. In that game, each player is dealt two cards face down, round of betting, 3 community cards flopped up in the middle of the table, round of betting, 4th community carded flopped up, round of betting, 5th community card, last round of better. A player's best 5 card hand wins, using a combo of their 2 hole cards and the five community cards.

Does that sound like what you watched??

The 2007 World Series of Poker featured 55 tournaments.

From a low of $1,500 to $50,000 buy in.

The main game was no limit holdem. There was limit and pot limit holdem. There has Omaha. There was HORSE (hold'em, Omaha, Razz, Stud, and Stud-Eight). There was SHOE.

    should be Hold'em

if each play has 2 cards in there hand with 5 cards that are community, it is hold'em

if each player has 4 cards in there hand with 5 community it is Omaha

There is more than one WSOP now that it has become so popular. Hold 'Em, Omaha, limit, no limit, etc etc etc. There are about eight bracelets up for grabs every year now.
