Why is there a metal rack in the microwave of my sister's house?
It looks like an oven rack. It doesn't make sense, because I remember what happened when I accidentally put a fork in the microwave once. But turn that thing on, with metal in it, and all is fine.

My microwave oven also come with a metal rack so it is safe to use. It is a different kind of "metal", the manufacturer already figure this out.

it's probably a toaster or convection oven and not a microwave. You can't put metal in a microwave as you already know..

Its NOT a differant type of metal. It is treated/baked with a film to cover the metal so it does not spark. If you scratch it bad enough it will still spark.

That is how it is designed--so you can microwave two items at once.
