Guitar Hero 3 differences in difficulty levels?

When playing the higher difficulty levels in Guitar Hero 3, what makes the Hard and Expert mode more difficult than Easy and Medium? Does everything move faster or do you have to hit more color buttons in the song? For example, when I play the game at the store, I'm not good at having to hit all 5 different color buttons on one song - so on Easy do songs only use 3 colors?

The difference between the difficulty levels in guitar hero are the number of notes you have to hit and the different colors you have to hit. For example...

Easy - first three colors (green red and yellow)

Medium- Four colors (green red yellow and blue)

Hard- All colors (green red yellow blue and orange) about the same pace as medium but just another color added and you have to move your hand around to hit all the colors

Expert- All the colors and all the notes possible...the notes move a lot faster and all the notes that you herd in easy mode that you didn't play, you are now playing.

So to answer your actual questions...

So what makes Hard and Expert harder than Easy and Medium is the number and pace of the notes and you have to use all 5 colored fret buttons. Yes, the harder the difficulty the more colors and the faster it gets. And yes, on easy you only have to use the first three colors and the notes move fairly slow so you can get the hang of it

Easy does use only three buttons. It’s about as simple as you can possibly get without insulting the song you’re playing. You only play the basic beats and no solos or fills or anything. Definitely start here.

Medium uses four buttons, and is generally a little harder than Easy. A few more notes, and some harder finger movements.

On Hard you have to use all of the buttons, which will take a while to get used to. You will have to play solos and almost every hard part of a song, but nothing should be impossible.

Expert is the mode where anything goes. Be prepared to have impossible stuff thrown at you if you don’t know what you’re doing. You say you started here at the store? That wasn’t a smart choice. Generally, Expert is like Hard mode but with harder solos and very difficult fills and crap. It’s about as realistic as you can get with a guitar controller.

P.S. I beat Through The Fire And Flames on Expert, just throwing it out there. A little ethos doesn't hurt.

Easy - Simple beats and only Green, Red, and Yellow buttons are in use

Medium - Harder beats (some sixteenth notes) and you also use the Blue button

Hard - You use multiple buttons much more often and you have to use the Orange button

Expert - You may sometimes have to hit three buttons at once, and there are a lot of runs

the difficulty go a little some like this:

easy_uses the top 3 frets buttons (green, red, and yellow,) and the focus of the note placement is only the main notes..()meaning no hammer-on or pull-offs) the song speed( speed of with the note go onscreen) goes at a slow pace

medium_uses the top 4 frets (green, red, yellow and blue)and the focus is still on main notes but it adds some hammer-ons and pull-offs. the song speed nearly the same but noticeably faster

hard_begins to use all 5 frets (green, red, yellow, blue and orange)

focus is on all noticeable notes...hammer-ons and pull-offs are used commonly.and the speed is about 15% faster than what it was in medium

expert_is 15% faster than what hard was...hammer-on and pull-offs are used frequently and are used for fast fret board work(some so fast that you need to slide your finger, instead of tapping each one) and the focus of the notes, well it's all of them

In easy you just have to hit green and red and yellow.

In medium you hitgreen red yellow and blue.

Inhard you hit all colors but orange.

In expert you hit all colors.

In each mode you have to hit more notes and the guitar coming at you is moving slightly faster.
