Why are republicans always complaining about taxes when thier party is the one that wastes the most money?
When Clinton was in office, our national deficet, {percentage tacked on every year to our debt, (for those of you who are uneducated on this subject), was erased, meaning that we had actually began paying off our debt, largely which was incurred from Bush SR, from the war in Iraq he started.

silly silly you! dont you know it is okay to spend every penny in our treasury plus take out loans even if it bankrups the country to spend if that money is going to bombs and all war and killing machines. however if you want to spend on books, or any other social program you are a commie and hate america.

Firtly, Clinton's surplus only existed in predictions. It never actually happened.
As for Bush Snr's "war in Iraq he started", that's a dead lie. Firstly, the war wasn't in Iraq, it was in Kuwait. US Forces stopped at the border. Not to mention the fact that it wasn't started by Bush Snr, but because of Saddam. And guess why? Oil. Saddam thought it should be a crime that Kuwait was selling oil cheaper than he was (worth noting that Hillary also despises the free market), so he invaded and the US defended Kuwait.

Clinton borrowed from Social Security to pay down the debt. That's like borrowing money from yourself. That's why Social Security is in such disarray. That and the baby boomers are now retiring.

Typical gibberish. Ironic you should talk about uneducated people.
First of all, DEMS have historically taken more and spent more of the taxpayer's money through a plethora of social programs beginning in the 1940's with FDR's "New Deal". Look it up.
Secondly, the Clinton Administration reaped the benefits of the Regan/Bush tax cut initiatives that were finally paying off while simultaneously raising taxes on ALL AMERICANS. Clinton's first tax hike was done within his first few months in office and is still in effect today; His 5 cent on the gallon gasoline tax. There was, in fact, a surplus towards the end of the Clinton years since he TOOK MORE MONEY from the American taxpayer than was necessary to run government and with no intentions to give any back through tax cuts; hence the surplus.
realst1: yep, i guess all Republican Presidents have sex with their interns in the oval office while hanging condems on the whitehouse Christmas tree as ornaments, killing cabinet members who know too much, and lying under oath. We do have a memory thank you.

When I was young> the taxes were 3%. Franklin D. raised them to 10% to fund the 2nd world war. He made the statement that, "we would see taxes at 50%" one day His sec. put the bill up to take taxes out of your wages before you get your paycheck? So you wouldn't realise how much you are paying. Those damn Republicans anyway! Take your blinders off and look at Clintons record again?

Don't ask for logic from Republicans. They are the party of faith and true believers. Most of their rhetoric contains no logic at all. The one about 9/11/01 being Clinton's fault always makes me laugh. (Clinton had all of the terrorists involved in the 1993 WTC attack hunted and imprisoned. Where is Osama? The USS Cole happened just before the end of Clinton's last term and although he started the process, Bush dropped the ball.)
Others are Bush restoring dignity to the White House and Reagan broke the USSR and that Mr. Alzheimer was a great president and Clinton reaped the benefits of his failed trickle down economics. It is all a barrel of laughs to the thinking person with any kind of memory.

How did he pay off the debt???? With HIGH taxes. Plus he didn't have a war going on either. Remember, he just let the terrorists attack the WTC in 1993 and the USS Cole and several other American embassies and didn't do anything about it. Perhaps you like paying a substantial part of your earnings to the government.
