Mickey Mantle. The guy was a horse, messed up leg, back, hung over from the other night. and still went 4-4 with a HR and 4 RBI

    Believe it or not...Pete Rose.

Rose was a monster. The guy came up to the plate, and you knew he would die trying to put a run on the board. He'd break his leg if he had to just trying to slide in a go ahead run.

    Kirby Puckett

Hands down. the guy did and would have died for his city, his team and his game. He never stopped trying.

Without question a universal tie between Jack Roosevelt Robinson, and Roberto Clemente, honorable mention to Lou Gehrig as well as Roy Campanella for always smiling from his wheelchair while all the way to the last breath being an ambassador of the game he loved so much.

Hands down Lou Gehrig. After being diagnosed with the disease he became a hero. After that emotional speech he solidified himself as a hero in the hearts of baseball fans!

    Good question!

I think about Ted Williams, Lou Gehrig and Carl Yastrzemski.

They were all about the game.

I would say the same as you...Lou Gehrig would have been a baseball phenomenon if he wouldn't have gotten sick. He's one of my favorite all-time baseball players and I think he deserves respect from all baseball fans.
