Which CPU is better: AMD Athlon 800 MHz or Intel Celeron 1 GHz?
The Intel chip is faster at 1 GHz, but it's a Celeron. The AMD is only 800 MHz, but it's an Athlon. So which is better?

To answer your question the AMD is a little faster it has a little bigger cache. But for what those processors can be used for then they will both do the job. They both use SDRAM 100 or 133 so old games only will run on them but you will be able to surf the net and do email just fine with either.

The AMD Athlon should out perform it at that era of CPU's. You can probably overclock the Athlon to 1Ghz as well if you wanted the clockspeed.
