Why do some people get a job title and it goes to their head.?
The receptionist was given the title of Assistant Manager at work.I noticed that she became argumentative with clients and personnel. I pointed out to her that too bad the salary wasn't impressive as the title.She took offense to my comment and is now considered a ROYAL *****.I never understood why people with no leadership skills,human relation skills or desire for personal hygiene (bad breath) are placed in such a position.Any one ever experienced such a joke.But then again every receptionist that worked in my industry was either a dingbat or a person who loved to chit chat on the phone.
In response to the worr e ore,it is not a matter of jealousy.I make a great deal of more money than her and I am a degreed individual.Also,she is not in direct command over me.

It all boils down to insecurity. They have to make up for it by being a total a**wipe to everyone. The trick is to hang in there, and eventually people like this will be found out. **it happens. Be strong and laugh it off.

Damn man sounds like a bad situation. If this person is not your direct supervisor I would go to your "real" boss and have a discussion about your feelings. If this interferes with your job and you feel that it is your time to move on... I would find a new one.
I've had similar situations in the past where people in "entitled" positions had really bad attitudes. I would also have to add that I have seen some of the laziest F***s get promoted in a couple of firms I have worked for in the past... where my philosophy with that is "lazy people prosper."
The best thing that you can do is take a position in a company where you don't have to deal with people like that... that's what I did... worked like a charm! Good luck to you on whatever you decide to do.

It seems like your jealous. Calling her ***** and what not and telling how too bad the salary is not as impressive as the title. You see you recognize the title as a big step up the ladder. Human nature makes us want authority thus when its granted so easy (title) everyone knows she has the authority so they better recognize it like in your case.

Because they have what I call BPS. Barney Phife Syndrom! It causes Abusauthorititis, which is a chronic disease with no known cure other than a good @$$ whuppin!
