Hi I have a 1999 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8 Turbo. As far as I can see in my owners manual The circle with the triangle and the exclamation point means Anti-Slip Regulation. (ASR) This is what my manual reads. The warning light comes on when the ignition is switched on and goes out again after about 2 seconds. The light will start flashing when the vehicle is moving if the ASR is activated. The warning light will light up continuously if the system is switched off manually, or if a malfunction should occur. Since the ASR operates in conjunction with the anti-lock brake system (ABS), the ASR warning light will also come on if a fault should occur in the ABS. As far as the shaking goes I don't know much about cars. It may have something to do with your ASR?? Who knows. I at least hope this helps.

Fails self diagnostics and needs to be scanned for the fault.
Brakes work just no anti-lock function. The person saying you will have longer stopping distances is full of non-sense. Yet a locked wheel can cause control issues.
Get it looked at as the flashing light is a very serious distraction when trying to drive!

Its probably a sensor that is shorting out did it happen after new pipes were fitted as it is very easy to damage the wires attached to sensors. You need to get it to a garage its not going to be an expensive job.

Your ABS is probably not working but you may not notice a difference in braking performance unless you brake hard.
Your brakes will lock up if you have to brake hard for an emergency and this can cause a loss of control and increased braking distance under hard (emergency) braking.
Take it to a dealer to have it checked out

Hi, I work at a car dealership but not in the service dept. We tell customers that when their ABS light is on it means they have brakes but not antilock brakes. You should take it in and have it checked.

Go to a car service and have your car tested...Maybe a sensor is guilty for the light flashing

This is a known problem with the ABS system in these vehicles.
