I am looking for a recipe for making your own herbal and flavored toothpicks. A source is appreciated-thanks!?
I'm sure I spotted in a magazine recently, but I read so many..I honestly don't remember. Seems essential oils were used, and there was a drying/curing process. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I would use pure essential oils diluted to 50% in a light cooking oil such as grapeseed oil. Soak the toothpicks overnight. Let them dry on paper towels for an hour, then package in airtight (glass) containers. If you want less "heat" you can dilute the oils even more.
Some safe choices are anise (licorice flavor), orange, lemon, ginger, spearmint & cinnamon LEAF.
Try doing just half a dozen of each to see which you like, then make a big batch for your friends & family.
All health food stores sell a wide variety of essential oils. Aura Cacia is a reputable brand, also NOW foods & Starwest Botanicals. I would buy Cinnamon oil from our local drug store.Fill a small bottle with tooth pics, carry this to school in my pocket, and sell them for a penny each. This was back when if you found one,you would pick it up.(in the 1950s).We wouldn't dry them, and the oil would burn our mouth.Tried some clove oil,but didn't like it much. I quit doing this when the cap on oil got loose in my pocket,in class

I would just go with food-based oils, they are available at most grocery stores.
