LSU versus Ohio St.?
I have heard all year that the Big 10 cannot match up with the SEC....From top to bottom......that might be the truth.
But didn't the Michigan/Florida game prove that the top Big 10 teams CAN play with the top SEC teams?
Michigan beat Florida, who was, as anyone watching could tell you, playing a home game.
Take away the Michigan's three turnovers in the endzone and the game isn't even close.
Don't get me wrong, I am not implying that Michigan would outplay Florida in the same fashion if the they met ten times.
But does this game not show that anyone claiming that Ohio St. does not have a chance is too biased to be taken seriously?

I was along the same line of thinking when it comes to big 11 teams not matching up well agianst SEC teams but now i have to agree with you. The michigan game showed me as well as you, that the big 11 is very legit and i now give The Ohio St. a much better chance at beating LSU than i previously did. If anyone says that Ohio St. doesn't have a chance, yes they shouldn't be taken seriously!

I think LSU has the upper hand even though Ohio St. is ranked #1. But with the game against Michigan in Florida that gives me more confidence in Ohio St. I was a little bit upset about how bad Notre Dame this year and then both Indiana and Illinois lost. Illnois was blown away by USC. I guess there is always next season though.

exactly. Without those 3 turnovers, this would have been a blow-out.
Oh well, I'm happy with the win as it was. I could really give a crap about Purdue, Indiana, Illinois and Mich St....It's all about the Big Ten's Big 3...PSU, Michigan, Ohio State...
...almost every year those three teams are gonna be good enough to win a national championship

It certainly shows that Ohio State has a chance. Overall the Big Ten has a winning record over the SEC when it comes to bowl game victories. However, nobody (especially ESPN) lets anyone forget Ohio State has lost all their games against SEC opponents. I hope this is a close, well played game. LSU does have home field advantage.

not likely. All its going to do isn't enable any of LSUs gamers to get right into a comfortable rhythm. Ohio State has possibly performed sufficient movie analyzing by way of now to nicely known what to assume from all and sundry LSU places in. have faith me, those 2 communities know quite lots each thing approximately one yet another, its only going to come back all the way down to who needs it greater and who executes greater useful.

It's football...anybody can beat anybody with the right preparation & attitude. I've said all month that osu should be thanking the football gods because this is the BEST match-up they could ask for. LSU is a weak contender and better match-up for osu fans.
I'd much rather have seen USC vs Georgia, or USC vs OU...osu should be thanking their collective butts that they aren't playing any of those three teams.
Kudos to michigan, they played a great game, almost redemption for losing to Appl.St. earlier in the year...almost.
Unfortunately, your question (and silly one's like it) willcontinue to get banter every freaking year until the big 10 and Bowl folks realise the only way to determine a REAL Nat'l Champ is through a play-off.
Div-I football is a joke until then...there's no RAEL Champion...just MYTHICAL National Champions.
Regards.
Source(s): Still wondering how osu deserves a shot at the bcs trophy when they didn't even win a conference championship game (nor beat any team in the top 20)? - 1 decade ago
Yes but apparently OHIO State is too small and slow even though they have one of the biggest O-lines in the country.
They have one of the best cover corners in the country and one of the best linebackers. Guess what they both are fast and smart.
I guess all SEC teams care about is speed since most players don't make it to the NFL.
Edit: This is for YT

Apparently Ohio State has 52 in the NFL. More then LSU I guess it's true what they say about SEC fans their parents are brother and sister.

If OSU plays like they did aginst Mich. then it should be a close game.
I think one of the biggest problems for the Big Ten teams is the lack of playing time between the last game of the season and the bowl games. Last year it really hurt OSU I belive.

I do agree that the SEC blowhards are just that- blowhards who put more hype than substance behind their teams. Big Ten fans do it too but not as bad as SEC fans (at least lately)...however, I don't see Ohio State coming within 10 points of LSU and that is just me looking at the talent and strength-of-schedule differences...not to mention Ohio State was destroyed last season and really should not be playing for a national title...I think USC and Georgia proved that yesterday- or at least that a playoff system is badly needed...

Neither one of them belong in the title game, they both played like crap this year. Who ever wins the game, they know deep down they are not the best team in the country. Even ESPN has said it, they maybe not the best teams but they made it!
