Yes its possible. There is a theory among ghost hunters etc that the ghosts we see are real people somewhere else, and that we can appear to them as ghosts at the same moment. Therefore you can reason that this same phenomena may well apply to dreaming too.

When I was very young I dreamt about a black man who ran a sex shop -Id never heard of such a thing at the time. Some years later, I dreamt about a man who'd shaved a couple of lines out of one of his eyebrows -as a fashion statement. This was at least a decade before anybody had actually thought of doing it!

    Coincidence, or what?

Almost EVERYTHING in a dream is a symbol for something else. Whether the stranger exists or not isn't important... it's what/who he represents IN the dream that matters... I'd say it's a 70 -30%age that dictate whether or not our dreams matter. For example, if a dream I have is bizarre and symbolic, it's usually a message my mind is sending me... the rest of the time, it's just my mind having fun. Especially the dreams with celebrities in them, that seem more like movies than dreams.

From a Jungian perspective, yes and no.

The strangers in your dream represent archetypes - I guess, types of people that exist. I think this works physically but also emotionally - they LOOK like a sort of person (ie, tall bearded African man, short redhead) but they also ACT like a sort of person (kind listener, threatening authority figure). Chances are, along the way, you'll meet someone who fits both these categories, and think that you've dreamed them before...

which, if you think about it, in a way you have.

I ask myself that very same question every day... i always dream about this mysterious Mediterranean character. He hardly speaks to me but in every dream i have about him i fall even more in love with him. I know thats well strange to imagine - falling in love with someone in your dreams but i can't help but be physically attracted to him. I don't have a clue who this character is because I've never seen him my life i just wonder is he real or my vision of my ideal partner???

You know, I've never thought about that, but when I was in the fifth grade I had a dream about this guy and this girl. They were sitting in my kitchen and I freaked out.

Anyway, two years later (and I swear to you it was them) I had those two for my English class. Their names were Chris and Vanessa.

They exist in some of my dreams

No, they are projections of parts of your own personality. Try thinking from the point of view of one of those characters in your dream; talk as though you were that person, use first person, say "I am .... and I'm here because..." and talk about your feelings or whatever it is you see yourself saying as that dream character. You may be surprised at how enlightening it is.

I hope not. I had a dream the other night that this creepy guy was stalking me then tried to shoot my dad... if I ever saw him in person I would FREAK.
