mutual dreams?

is there such a thing where two people have the same dream at the same time? as in, they see each other in the dream as it's happening.

has anyone heard of anything like that?

Update:

in case this is somewhat unclear, what i'm saying is that two people could meet up in a dream, and actually be with each other like in real life.

I live in East Asia, and suspense things like mutual dreams are common here,in mythology and folklores, usually it's a omen, indicate something in the dreams will really happen in the future....or some dead people's soul trying to contact the living, inform them about something important.

I used to read a book about underground resistance, the daughter's parents both dreamed of her were buried alive one night.......they haven't heard of their daughter for years....and about 10 years later, when the government award their parents for their daughter's brave death, the father asked them when did she died, the governemnt clerk told him the date, the father burst into tears, that was the day he and his wife dreamed of their daughter buried alive.

One of the scariest/strangest things that ever happened was in high school (going back 10 yrs ago).

My best friend and I were in home room discussing our bad dream. I had dreamt about a dead little boy dressed up in a military uniform (disturbing thought in itself) who wouldn't stop following me...I started explaining my dream and then I looked up and she was tearing, and she said, "he was wearing a slate blue uniform" etc and basically started explaining the same little boy that was in my dream.....it was unbelievable and we both teared cuz we were so freaked out.

It was the only time anything like that had ever happened to me. We did n't have the same dream exactly but the same boy was is it, what are the chances?

I've looked for other stories like that online and haven't come up with much but I'll tell you, it was strange.

Well, maybe if you spend the whole day with another person, and say, you see the same movie together and that night you both have a dream about that movie, etc. But that would be coincidence, wouldn't it??

I have mutual dreams all the time. Everyone does.

Think about it; if you're dreaming about a lamp, is the lamp not dreaming of you as well? This works with inanimate objects and Canadians at least.

The Matrix is the closest I've seen to that. It would be so cool if people could do that though.
