sims 2 enviroment bar?
how come when i build a house with all the best furniture, and let the sims go into it, they start getting frustrated and upset, then the environment bar basically become entirely red. Am i putting too many good furnitures?
i have a lot of windows and lights in my house, also the furniture have high environment rating, so why is it still fully red?
do they need to get use to it first?

Well you can try to click on the item and checking it's information and stats. Look for the amount of enviroment points it has. Place it in your house and it should go up.

There are certain aspects to having a high environment score. The larger the room, the more stuff you're going to need in it; make a room smaller and it's easier to achieve a high score. Sims like lamps, natural light (windows), paintings, sculptures, and pricey furniture. Look at the environment score of each item (some of them give a boost) and use those when placing your furniture.

Try clicking on individual objects such as a painting or a vase, etc. and have the selected sim View the object. You can judge by their reaction to the object if they like ir or not (Oh how I hate Simlish!) If they have a negative reaction to a particular object, change it out.
