What do you think?

Looking back for the past 20-30 years what do you think we have learned to expanded our knowledge in the areas such as physics, cosmology, genetics, anthropology, paleontology (go wild in girth and depth) and other applied sciences that you believe are profound and could be considered to be pivotal if not turning points in the development of our understanding of the world we are living.

Please consider only one topic :-) .

Well, Max Factor's rich Lipfinity formula delivers amazing semi-permanent color by evenly attaching color pigments to your lips. Color can last for up to 12 hours. However, Urban Decay's Lip Envy lipstain in 'Greedy' is the best colour I've found to date. Plus it's vanilla scented. :)

    Oh... sorry... 'cosmology'...

Ah well, it's been a long day and I don't come here often... ;)

In terms of Physics:- The Law of Physics will not change,it´s Fixed. Thus we can say everything in this physical Universe will always obey the appointed Pysical law. However do we understand already all the Physical law? Back then when Einstein didnt come up yet with G.R..we still believe if the sun suddenly dissapear..we would instantaneously set off from orbit..then he came up with the idea Nothing can exceed the speed of light including gravity..we will have like 8 minutes before we are off the orbit..people before that time thought the Law of Gravity is alredy being sumarized already but they were wrong..as far as the G.R is concern,it´s also accepted that it´s not the end product just yet.(scientists are still working on improving it more).

People back then doesnt realize Electric has something to to with Magnetism, along came Maxwell with electromagnetism..then there´s an invention we call Radio then Television..it´s quite a turning point is it?..just imagine for gravity, darkmatter, black holes etc etc..lets keep our fingers cross and hope those scientists do a great job solving them mysteries :)

our poor knowledge about the Universe is a sign that we are actually helpless and powerless and there is definitely an Entity that governs the Physic law itself..

    Great question.

For me the pivotal moments are:

    a) We have a good grasp of the age of the universe (no longer having those embarrassing +/- 50 % everywhere).

    b) The observational evidence for dark energy. The answer might lie in understanding supernovas a bit better, say, but negative answers are as fundamental as positive ones.

    c) The start of unification of gravity with the electroweak force.

Those ares the ones I can think of for now.
