Is it safe to leave your ps3 on at night?
Like sometimes when its downloading demos i left it on at night so the demos can download. And ive had no problems but i heard leaving it on might cause it to wear down and maybe not work. Is this true? are there any problems with leaving the ps3 on at night?

It's probably not a great idea to leave it on overnight. PS3's have a heat dispersal problem which can cause to long term damage if left running at a certain temperature for long amounts of time. You shouldn't notice anything immediately but it will decrease the overall life of your system.
My advice would be to make sure the room is well ventilated, even buy the addon coolers for it.

it's going to be positive, make advantageous it somewhat is out interior the open, once you turn it on. attempt to pay attention for sounds that it somewhat is suffering (the followers are shifting quicker then what you're used to). If there is no warning signs of suffering then it somewhat is positive, no be counted if it somewhat is, attempt to advance it off the floor. i got here across that I placed my Ps3 on a e book so it could be raised off of the carpet so it does not sound like it replaced into making waiting for take off. do not forget to make it immediately close down after the get carry of finishes.

i think, if it takes like a long time and you play on it for a long time, it wouldn't make any difference.
for example: demo download : 2 hours
you play on it for 2 hours
then it would be no different to playing on it because it would be switched on when you are playing it ayway.
( hope this makes sense. sorry if it doesn't)
Source(s): if i had a ps3 and downloaded demo's, i would do it during the day so i could turn it off again when it is finished downloading. - Anonymous1 decade ago
it's not the best idea but if you have to leave it on you should probably put it on a nice smooth cool table so that it won't overheat.
(this problem happened with the 360 they tested it on cool tables but not on carpet were most people put their consles. the ps3 is not as bad as the 360 but i still suggest to put it on a table just in case)
