5h=1/8-3/4
5h=1/8-6/8
5h=-5/8
h=-1/8
6g-7/10=-1/5
6g=-1/5+7/10
6g=-2/10+7/10
6g=5/10
6g=1/2

3/4 + 5h = 1/8
Subtract both sides by 3/4.
5h = -5/8
Divide both sides by 5.
h = -1/8
To check, plug in -1/8 for h in the original equation.
3/4 + 5h = 1/8
3/4 + 5(-1/8) = 1/8
3/4 - 5/8 = 1/8
1/8 = 1/8
So h does equal -1/8.
6g - 7/10 = -1/5
Add 7/10 to both sides.
6g = 1/2
Divide both sides by 6.
g = 1/12
Check by replacing g with 1/12 in the original equation.
6g - 7/10 = -1/5
6(1/12) - 7/10 = -1/5
1/2 - 7/10 = -1/5
-1/5 = -1/5
So g = 1/12 is correct.
Hope this helps!

Question 1
6 + 40h = 1
40h = - 5
h = - 5 / 40
h = - 1 / 8
Perhaps question SHOULD read as:-
3 / (4 + 5h) = 1 / 8
24 = 4 + 5h
5h = 20
h = 4
Question 2
6g - (7 / 10) = - 1 / 5 is question as given.
6g = 5 / 10
g = 5 / 60
g = 1 / 12
Tip
Use brackets to avoid misunderstanding of questions.

3/4 + 5h = 1/8
5h = 1/8 - 6/8
5h = -5/8
h = -1/8
6g - 7/10 = -1/5
6g - 7 = -10/5
6g - 7 = -2
6g = 5
g = 5/6
