In general:
Different engines with different efficiencies and different power and torque curves, which given the same driving habits will give different levels of fuel economy.
Different aerodynamics.
Despite being in the same class, cars have different weights.
Different gearing, and more or less efficient transmissions. (For example, Chrysler uses some startlingly inefficient automatic transmissions)
As for the two you're comparing, one is a hybrid, the other is not. The hybrid uses a combination of an electric motor and the engine to drive the car. The batteries are charged by the motor, and the motor shuts off whenever the car is not moving, or moving so slowly that the electric motor can handle it without the engine. This results in significant increases in fuel economy.

I definitely have an attractive little beige 2004 ford ranger. (Randy the Ranger.) My sons motor vehicle is Leon the Neon, besides, it quite is a 13 gallon tank and that i top off each and every 10 days many times after 330 miles...ok, math I figured that to be 25 miles in line with gallon can that be proper? a hundred and twenty of those miles are highway. Yikes i do no longer comprehend. ok figured it out it quite is 25 mpg i think of it quite is rather solid for slightly truck proper?
