Would anyone have an idea what agency (USA) I could contact to get dates for the jobs I've had?

I remember what jobs I've had but not the begining and ending dates. My husband was sick quite often before he died from cancer. So the timeline for the jobs wasn't so important at the time. I would have a job then he would get sick and I would have to quit to care for him. I tried calling the places I worked, I got the same response, "I'll call you back". But they never have.
