Since there is a place above the question box to check spelling, why are there so many spelling errors here?

It seems that half of the tennis questions have spelling errors. Sometimes the questions do not even make sense.

I think you can boil spelling errors down to three basic reasons:

    1. carelessness

    2. indifference

    3. ignorance

As far as I can determine, that about covers it.

You are absolutely right. Now a days the keyboard acts funny. A "spoonerism effect" is seen while typing. Somebody has to do some research on it. The keys operated by the left hand get printed later than that of the right hand. May be because the connection is going from the right hand side of the board. i do not know. More over, sometimes, if I click on the spell check it does not work and in order to save time, I just let go.

some time the people opt to use the chat language.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

Many people don't take time to use the 'Check Spelling' feature. I think it's a shame. It's a wonderful tool that only take seconds to use.

Juveniles who don't double check their work. Some words fool the spelling checker. Lazy people 2nd answer.

The SUBMIT button should automatically spell check, as my OE email SEND button does. That would help the puerile, the 'texter', the illiterate and the 'I don't care' crowd.

Also, there is no READ box.

    Laziness.

Nobody bothers reading their answers through. But it doesn't really matter- the meaning of *most* people's Q's & A's makes *some* sense.

it's because people don't take the time to check their spelling. Either that, or they don't even notice that it's there.
