How to stretch the picture fullscreen when watching on a wide screen laptop?

I have got a sony vaio laptop VGNFJ58GP, wide screen. When playing video files using WMP it doesnt strech full screen. Black bars show on both sides. Same problem when I watch video on internet, like,

on Youtube.com. But when I watch DVD by using 'Inter DVD player' software that came with the laptop, this problem doesnt show. Is there any adjustment I have to make to watch videos on internet as full screen without any black bars, on the wide screen.

As long as you have clicked on the header and selected full screen, then there is nothing else you can do. It has to do with the resolution of the display versus the signal. It is quite common on the YouTube and Yahoo videos to not fill the screen.
