    No, he's right, you don't.

You can use a number of output methods: there are cables that allow you to connect with an RCA-style connection (one yellow video, two white & red audio), component video connection (a green, red and blue set of video cables, and a red & white audio set), or HDMI to your HDTV (the single USB-looking style connection). Any of them will work, but using HDMI will give you the best looking picture. You need an HDTV to use HDMI.

No you can use a normal TV to use your PS3. If you have extra money then you might buy a HDTV so you can enjoy PS3 true graphics but if you don't either you collect more money or just stick to your SD (standard definition) tv. If you planning to buy a HDTV, i suggest Aquos mine is 32inch and it still goes 1080i that's not too bad. If you want full HD (1080p) i suggest you a bigger Aquos HDTV or Bravia. You need a HDMI cable to get HD from your HDTV, if you use the normal cable on a HDTV it only goes 480p. Advise, i believe you should buy a LCD HDTV because LCD doesn't burnout after long periods of gaming like Plasma does and it cheaper too, i think. A cheap HDMI cable works fine mine only cost $10 and its give me a nice 1080i since thats my HDTV max resolution.

No, you don't. This is just another weird untrue rumour probably started by 360 fanboys, much like the one that says you need a PC monitor. Completely untrue.

It helps though, and is an amazing experience, but SD is fine.

    No

You may need a TV with video and audio inputs but a RF modulator fixes that.

Nope, it's an optional way of plugging it in.

As with most newer vid games, a very good option, but an option all the same
