how do i uninstall windows xp to install an earlier version?
i live in spain and had repairs done on my computor and they installed a spanish version of xp whitch i cant read i tryed to put my old version back in but it wont let because it says i have got a later version installed

I hope you have the motherboard driver disc that came with your system. If so, simply reformat your hard disc and install your Windows XP. If not, pls get back to the spanish guys and let them format your HD and leave out the installation of Win XP, obviously they must have required drivers for them to have done the initial job..

U can't uninstal windows XP but u can instal new viorson in it put cd in ur drive then click on it it will run then instal it but after instaletion u should instal driver in it ok bye bye

Unless you are prepared to completely re-format your hard drive and start from absolute scratch (not a task to be undertaken lightly) it is neigh on impossible.
XP's horrible little tentacles are everywhere - uninstall it and there will be applets all over place that will take great pleasure in making sure nothing else works.
PS Your additional details - have you tried going into Control Panel and selecting .....languages... option (Globe icon).
You might be able to force into into English

try exporting all your files and settings and then you will have to format your disk before doing a clean boot install of the older operating system. This should be a last resort if nothing else works.

Why would want to do that xp is good. Down grade to ME. worst system they ever made. Win 98se nothing will work with it. 95 same thing. Oh but wait there's always 3.1

you dont uninstall it you put the disk in and install it from windows xp by opening the disk drive and installing ot

You don't!
You'd either have to do a dual-boot, or do a clean install of your earlier OS.
