What are somethings you do after you retired from teaching?

I am eligible to retire from teaching in another year. I am curious what I could do to keep myself productive and not sit home and be bored

I know a lot of teachers who substitute teach. They love the option of working or not each day, and they still get to be with kids while not having to do lesson plans, staff meetings, etc. (all the things teachers hate).

I also know teachers who retire to work with the legislature, and others who work as consultants, etc. for the state department of education.

I'd work at Walmart...something completely different.

If you need to keep an income coming in, why not take a service job. As one teacher to another, can you imagine not having to bring home any work??

I am planning on spending time with my elderly parents, babysitting my grandson, and volunteering at our local animal shelter. I have at least one or two years left.
