Sick of hearing about the"BIG BANG"!?
To everyone who embraces the big bang theory as a viable explaination of the beginning of our universe, I would like to know how you can have the whole universe exploding from a single clump of something, and at the same time explain the (observable) facts of black hole theory?? Just the fact that black holes exist proove that the big bang theory is rediculous,yet it is still preached day in and day out by so many scientists. Does anyone else see the glaring contradiction here? Please don't give me that old theory about the universe expanding from a single point,slowing, and contracting. That has been busted so many times it really doesn't hold up anymore.
edit: Black holes proove that there is a limit to gravitational force. That means that when you reach a critical mass , so to speak, that matter is destroyed and leaves a void in the universe. It no longer exists. Therefore, if you bring all the matter in the universe together, you get a big fat NOTHING! Actually, less than nothing.
one more thing: To those who are calling me ignorant, and bringing up e=mc2......You obviously haven't considered the effects of intense gravitational force on "Space-Time"! Matter may not be destroyed, but it is no longer real to us,since time itself has stopped inside the black hole. It can't come back, since it is no longer "relative" to anything.This is the part of Einstein's theory that is the least talked about.I'm just trying to think"outside the box here" ,obviously many people are happy in their boxes,and don't like them challenged.

Are you arguing that a concentration of matter that dense would simply collapse into a black hole rather than expand into the universe as we know it? That is an interesting idea.
The Big Bang theory isn't really trying to address how things went 'poof' to get started, it's just the name for that start (which nobody claims to understand at all). The only things we think we can model are what occurred after the initial 'poof.'
I desperately want to know how the universe began. And I recognize that simply naming it "Big Bang" is no explanation at all. That's why people are still trying to work on it.

Well, do you agree that the the universe is expanding today?
This fact alone leads to the big bang even if you know next to nothing about the rest of physics. And we do know that the universe is expanding because of blue-shift measurements from distant galaxies. The more distanct the galaxy the faster it is moving away from us.
Now, obviously the universe has intense mass (and hence gravity). All this mass should be pulling the universe together, making it smaller over time. And yet, we know that it is expanding today. Thus, there must have been some force applied to the matter in the universe greater than the total gravity of the universe -- or else it won't be expanding today.
We also know that if the universe is expanding today, then it must have been smaller yesterday. And yesterday (being smaller) its gravity would be more as all the matter was closer together. Yet, it was expanding yesterday also. Thus, whatever force caused the universe to expand, it was not only enough to overcome today's gravity, but also the stronger gravity of the universe yesterday.
Now, since we can see galaxy clusters say 10 billion light years away, we know that the universe was expanding 10 billion years ago. We also know that it was much, much, much smaller than today and the gravity much, much, much greater. Yet, we know that whatever force caused the universe to expand today was obviously sufficient to cause it to be expanding back then.
We can keep rolling back time. We can also look at the temperature (background radiation) of the universe and say it was about 13.7 billion years old. We know that no matter how much gravity there was in the early universe, whatever force pushed the matter away from each other was sufficient to overcome any gravity which might have existed.
Finally, black holes do radiate matter into space. The rate depends upon how massive the black hole is and how cool the surrounding space is. In fact, when the black hole's mass is slowly reduced to about 1.5 solar masses, it is assumed to explode in a super-nova like explosion - returning all its matter back to the universe. How the universe is expanding is still being debated as we speak. No one knows for sure.
And whoever said that blackholes are the proof of the Big Bang? The last time I checked, we accidentally came across cosmic background radiation (ie...white noise) as truth of the Big Bang.
I think you should check your facts first.
I have read quite of few books on astrophysics and I have yet to hear anyone say the big bang didn't happen.

Once again you need to check your facts. Since when is matter destroyed in a black hole???? If a black hole has no mass then there would be no gravitaional pull. And we know that black holes have intense amounts of gravity.
Also, you cannot destroy mass. Mass can be changed into energy (E=mc^2), but it cannot be destroyed. You need to check your facts if you want to get into a discusion on this matter.
You sound very ignorant on this topic. I love to debate physics and religion with people, but in this case you are just flat out wrong. Please, go to a university library and check out a textbook on astrophysics and it will contradict what you are saying.
I am curious though, where in the world were you told that:

So according to you, matter is not real to us anymore inside a bladk hole. So you are saying that we can just simply ignore all the matter that is causing the black hole?????? You are completly wrong on that fact! The matter still exsists and we cannot pretend that it doesn't!
At least you got something sort of correct. As the gravitational pull increases time goes by slower.
But, time does not stop! In order for time to stop all the matter in a black hole has to reach singularity. But it doesn't, it approches singularity!! So time will go slower and slower but it will never stop.
I love thinking outside of the box. But when someone comes up with a crazy idea that does not make sense I will tell them. Everytime you talk about this topic you say something that is wrong! You are not thinking outside of the box when you are incorrectly referencing theories that are almost 100 years old. If you really want to think outside the box, come up with a new theory to explain how the universe was created.

Black holes are sit perfectly within standard cosmological theory regarding the evolution of the universe. They are formed by collapsing super stars. Both the big bang and black holes make sense within the framework of general relativity and both phenomena have been verified using multiple techniques.

The short answer is that the big bang gets away with it because it is expanding rapidly near the beginning and the rate of expansion is slowing down. Space can be flat while space-time is not. The curvature can come from the temporal parts of the space-time metric which measures the deceleration of the expansion of the universe. So the total curvature of space-time is related to the density of matter but there is a contribution to curvature from the expansion as well as from any curvature of space. The Schwarzschild solution of the gravitational equations is static and demonstrates the limits placed on a static spherical body before it must collapse to a black hole. The Schwarzschild limit does not apply to rapidly expanding matter.

Your mistake is to imagine that there was any mass in the beginning. There wasn't. It came later. Just pure energy. And since photons are bosons, they can all be in the same phase space, ie a singularity of light is all it took. Let there be Light is a pretty good analogy. There was no single clump of something. There was nothing. Just pure energy. Nothing wrong with that.

your right, that theory has been busted. thats why its not the theory anymore. the theory is that the universe will continue to expand. you cant deny the fact that its expanding, that isnt really arguable. its just fact.

i agree there just horses and people are making a Big deal about his loss and what was wrong with him. It's not like ur gonna win every race and he hasn't been racing that long. It's not humans its a horse who doesnt know what is going on

no the matter does NOT cease existence. matter cannot be created nor destroyed. There is no contradiction.
