question about eggs.....?
my son forgot to put a carton of eggs in the fridge when him and my husband got home from the store. (he was too excited about his new video games) anyways, i found the eggs the next day sitting in the corner of the couch. my question is, are they still good after being out overnight? or should i just throw them out?

The freshness of an egg is not only determined by the date when the egg was laid, but also by the way the egg has been stored. Proper handling and storage is perhaps the most important factor in determining freshness. If a freshly laid egg is left at room temperature for a full day, it will not be as fresh as a week old egg that has been refrigerated between 33° and 40°F from the time it was laid.

i never put my eggs in the fridge. Leave them on my kitchen worktop. Use them when I want them. This panic about sell by/use by dates has got people in such a tizzy. My neighbour called on me yesterday asking me if I could use the Cream she had bought as its sell by date was (Horrors) the day before!! 'Too right' I said. That'll go in my coffee for the next week.

Eggs can be kept out of the fridge, at room temperature, many people keep them like that.

don't be daft. they are perfectly fine . i don't keep eggs in the fridge and i should know , they are from my own hens. they keep for about a week safely. even the fertilised ones before they are ready to be incubated.

there is nothing wrong with the eggs they sit in the supermarket on shelves not in the cooler .I had chickens for years and their eggs were kept in the shed for days at a time and there was nothing wrong with them
