What adhesive can you use on coins to keep them in a frame and not damage them?

I have a cherry box with holes for the state quarters. It is very nice looking, but the coins do not stay in, they fall forward and slide down the glass. I do not want to devalue the coins.

They have these things called glue dots (at Michael's and Wal-Mart) that are circles and are really sticky. They come off easily though. In the scrapbooking aisles.

I would use clear "liquid nails small project clear". It is a urethane based adhesive and will hold mostly anything. But if you need to clean it off you can use acetone.

just take some sticky tape and roll it in a loop. surely it wont leave residue on the coins, and even if it does, it wont be difficult to remove.
