Omar Vizquel has played 2570 games at shortstop. Luis Aparicio holds the record for games played at shortstop with 2583 games.

    This is as of 11/10/07.

#1 Braves Fan, I get the credit because I am right.

Even according to "http://www.baseball-reference.com/v/vizquom01.shtm... they have his games played as 2570. That includes 1 at 2B, 1 at RF, and 2 at DH.

Yeah,,that's RIGHT you guys... but that record was totally Swept under the rug; 'Because, for the first time in over 40 years of being a hard core Giants fan, in '07 the TEAM was completly overlooked, and all eyes were on #25, or left field.. with all the huge banners and murials, and Bonds this and Bonds that...I was saying all along what about Visquel, or Arillia,,,but mostly the TEAM..OUR Team,,The San Francisco Giants are bigger than one player; but forgot that the last few years and gave in; because it put butts in seats.. I remember a time AFTER Mays; but before Bonds; going in with our blankets, and thermos's full of warm stuff,,and bundled up for the biting chill of a freezing July night in San Francisco & "The Stick",, There were us 2, and about roughly about 3500 others and I thought how sad is this? Then before long Al Rosen took over and snatched up Willl Clark, and a few other's that were not allowed to use the conditions on the field.(Weather) as an excuse anymore,, like Frank Robinson did before Roger "Humm Baby" Craig was hired as Manager in '86, and the Giants were in the World Series within' 3 years..and a typical night game went from that 3500 to like 35000, in no time...Point of all this is; that NO ONE player is, or should be used as a way to increase revenue; and that's what the Giangs did,,,right up to the very end; and I think that it IS the end. Can you imagine the reception he'd get if free agency landed him in San Diego, or ANYWHERE other than right here in S.F.??

Anyway. now that he's gone; maybe we can get back to being Giants fans; and the "Shot Callers" in front offce can do a litlle wheelin' & dealin' so that we can all go out to enjoy ourselves at a Giants game; not a Barry Bonds home run exhibition.. The fans didn't act like that with Joe Montana & the niners... they were ALWAYS the Forty Niners,, not JOE "Cool" Montana; and featuring the SF Forty Niners...See what I'm sayin' ..So, it's good ridden's to the rude and concieted millionaire in left field..

OMAR would have gotten alot more spotlight had it not been permanantly pointed in the driection of Barry FKN" Bons".

Enough out of me..sorry for the rant. We giants fans are alot deeper into our TEAM than just one component of said team... Wow! I just used this keyboard and this forum to get that off my chest and say what I really think without having to deal with bonds' fn

Oman stole the show last year at ss didn't he?? He had to seeings that he had alll that extra field to cover; since bonds quit "Running them down",. a couple of years ago; when he quit being a player; and started being a "Side Show". , and total distraction for players; umps, outfielders that are supposed to work together out there.. and at least try!

Anyway.. I sure hope Omar stays with us as long as he can.

Right on and thanx for tie opportunity to answer that Monter of a problem out in left field..

Zaheer Khan is an innovations-blowing bowler adversarial to left-hand batsmen and particularly good adversarial to precise-handers besides, yet his a million-Day style is lost because he's unable to bowl the bouncers and yorkers an identical way that he used to do interior the previous. He now no longer justifies his position interior the 11 and therefore he would do extra constructive to announce his retirement. for my area, even interior the longer format, he lacks stamina and punch, both one in all that are the actual needs of attempt cricket %. bowling. unusually, he's no longer even efficient any extra interior the T-20 video games. a sleek go out from international cricket is what he ought to devise for.
