What was the first hip-hop/rap song you knew by heart?

which song was the first one you could rip off top like nothing and do you still listen to that song today? Mine was Summertime by the Fresh Prince, I think I was like six or seven...

"think of the summers of the past, adjust the bass and let the alpine blast" ...brings me back everytime

    Shoop by Salt n Peppa

But I guess it doesn't really count for your question because I learned it a couple of years ago rather than when it originally came out. I think I was too young when it came out to be rapping a song like that haha.

Public Enemy - Bring The Noise

    and never looked back ...

"never badder than bad cos a brother is madder than mad at the fact it's corrupt like a senator, soul on a row but you treat it like soap on a rope because the beats and the lies are so dope!"

and yeh still listen to it, and it still cranks.

Rapper's Delight - back in junior high. It's the first and only rap song I ever knew by heart. I still remember a lot of it!

  • Eminem- Real Slim Shady

my mom said it was waterfalls by tlc. I was 3 in 1995 when the song came out, and she said i would always sing along to it and that i knew most of the words to the chorus part.

  • Eminem - Lose yourself. Id listen to id every day and just vibe :D I still like Eminem and still acasionally listen to Lose Yourself. "Lose youself in the music the moment you own it you better never let it go no, you only got one shot, one opertunitey to seize every thing you ever wanted, in one moment...." Lol good old dayz.

"Express Yourself" by NWA. I bought "Straight out of Compton" for this song in 8th Grade because I loved the beat. (thanks Dr Dre!) Little did I know this was one of the hardest, foul mouthed, gangsta rap albums ever produced.

I grew up on the Streets! (the white suburban streets, but the streets none-the-less.)

"Im expressing with my full capabilities... and now I'm living in correctional facilities..." CLASSIC.
