Should they remove the automatic BCS berth from the big 10?
Seriously all 11 teams are bums.. they have 5 wins 11 losses last 2 years in bowl games. They play weak schedules and look bad in conference play.
The only thing they seem to have going for them is ridiculous fans ala Notre Dame in the early 90's who think they are the nations best even when getting destroyed

The Big 10 is definatly showing some serious weakness when they play out of conference. forget about the Michigan upset over Florida. Maybe if they wouldn't play weak out of conference games they would get a better idea of how good they are. Even when some of those schools play out of conference games, say a div II school they might not even win that game.

that particularly makes no journey? they're STACKED, with valid communities. confident now not each and each group is yet what convention has all communities valid in preserving with annum? extremely lots none of them aside from the SEC it is form of an magnificent convention extremely lots, yet they nonetheless do have Miami which hasn't complete something by using fact the 2d Payton became at that Tailback place and there are diverse diverse undesirable conferences. i think of all of there communities have a minimum of been to a minimum of a million bowl interest and for 5 in the present day years that they had a collection in 50% - seventy 5% of the BCS bowls. Then in diverse activities they compete purely has extremely and dominantly as diverse communities do. additionally they simply greater 2 becoming communities to the convention in Maryland and Rutgers. i individually do not the way it is even obtainable particularly. it is like preserving the %12 ought to offer up there BCS bid. the in easy terms convention that should renounce is independents. they must drop to the D-1AA factor I even have self belief. the in easy terms way I see this ever occurring if now not in easy terms the massive 10 yet all diverse huge conferences did the same and that they simply made 4 great conferences NE SE SW NW and then purely made a playoff out of the final 4 in each and each and each and each then had diverse guy or woman bowls for various communities nonetheless who weren't stable 4.

every conference has its up and down years. two years ago we had two of the best teams in the country with penn state and ohio state winning bcs games. why not strip the big 12 of their bcs nomination? oklahoma has gotten owned in both of their bcs games the last two years. as for the weak schedules? ohio state starts a home and home w/ usc next year, they just finished playing one with texas last year. they start one with miami after that finishes. penn state played a home and home with notre dame, they can't help it if notre dame blew this year. michigan scheduled oregon this year. most teams schedule one good team and then 2 or 3 cream puffs. lsu had vt and then played no other bowl bound teams out of conference. usc scheduled nebraska who was supposed to be good, and then two bad teams, georgia scheduled two teams that made bowls, one of them had a 6-6 record and the other 7-5. wva even has an extra non conference game and they still scheduled 5 push overs. oklahoma only had miami on their schedule, kansas didn't schedule any non conference team with a winning record, and virginia tech only played lsu in their non conference schedule. so upper tier big ten teams create their conference schedules just like every other bcs team, one big game, three easy ones. you can't control how good the rest of your conference is. so yes the big ten has had a rough couple of years, but they are still among the elite conferences in college football. as for bowl games: illinois got the short end of the stick this year, they weren't ready for a bcs game yet, but the rose bowl is so stuck on tradition that they took illinois in order to keep the big ten/pac ten matchup. they would have won any other non-bcs bowl game they went to. purdue won their game (they had to make it interesting though) michigan st hung with b.c. until the very end. penn state won another bowl game (thats what they're best at), it took a last second interception for tennesee to beat wisconsin (if he had missed that pick, tennessee would have lost) and michigan shocked the arrogant gators. and yes it looks like ohio state is laying another egg in a title game (it is practically a home game for lsu though, they'd have a tough time winning if the game was in columbus) but they belonged in the rose bowl not the title game. so hate on the big ten all you want, but they are still an elite league and next year is going to be a good year for the league.
also: richard c. thank you for re-using just about the lamest joke in the world. seriously did you come up with that yourself? you're soooooo clever.

Until conference officials realize there are actually 11 teams, then they should be forced to pass basic math classes each summer for consideration in the BCS.

What about the ACC I'm a Tech fan but they have only won ONE BCS games ever and that was the second year of the BCS I don't think you can strip them of that that's stupid to penalize them for two bad years
