Do you think they should remove the "homework help" section?

I think its crazy that kids who can't or won't spell a simple word like "could" or use proper punctuation are on here asking for homework answers. Do you think Yahoo should do more to prevent these kids from cheating? Remove the homework help section or add a rule against it to the guidelines?

I'm conflicted. I believe that it's helpful for those who TRY to do their work and are stuck on one or two concepts/problems. However, when kids come on here and just list every question, hoping that someone will do the work for them... that drives me crazy. So, ultimately I don't think they should remove the section, it would be unfair to penalize those who are using it for the right reasons.

no i don't think so because some people really do need help and if people give them help then that is their choice. People ask all sorts of questions...after all it is called yahoo answers. I don't know why you're going on about how 'bad' kids are. Everyone uses slang and shortcuts online. Obviously if people only give them answers it is not the solution to learning but as I have already said, it is completely the answerers choice anyways. This is my opinion and I'm not judging you in any way.

no one would desire to be impolite approximately something, yet in fact, some human beings are. often times the rudeness would desire to come from feeling stupid for no longer understanding the solutions; extra often, i could suspect that folk think of that the questions being ask are for the solutions somewhat than help attending to the solutions. the reason of homework is to furnish the pupil a getting to know exercising. We take that away as quickly as we merely hand out solutions. If questions have been ask in a manner that helped the pupil learn somewhat than to easily provide the respond, the individuals answering would tend to be extra tolerable.

No way!!! I don't believe they are cheating... Infact they are learning new things through yahoo answers... It helps them improve interraction and typing skills through the net. So what if they can't spell, they are just students who are in the process of learning...

I personally requested a site like this before it even got to be on Yahoo Answers... It is not cheating but helps them do their homework and keeps them away from games sites instead...

Students like the "homework" section, because they want us to do their homework for them, instead of opening up their school books & doing their own homework. I did my own homework, all through school & never expected anyone to do it for me but not some of these kids today. As for Yahoo doing more to stop these students from preying on others to do their homework, good luck.

Homework help is fine, so long as people provide the explanation, and not just the answer.

Better still just suggest what to read for them to find the answer themselves!

I think an easy way to put an end to it is if people stop answering there questions. Its easier to see a "homework" question rather than a regular topiced question.

I think they should, or at least regulate the amount of questions users post in that section. People just copy and paste their questions, problems, and prompts then expect users to answer for them. It makes them lazy.

YES I completely agree. I'm surprised that they allow it in the first place, and then people answer too! I answered one once and I regret it. That's not the proper way to learn.

They should just remove it altogether if people are just going to ask, which answer is it?

No, because some people may actually NEED help that they can't get anywhere else. Or maybe that have no one to help them. But that's just me. I say it's fine, and to leave it (even though I never use it myself--but I may need it someday!)
