What is your opinion on the election of Rich "Goose" Gossage to the HOF?

As an 8-year-old Yankee Fan when he arrived and blew through the American League, then the Red Sox, then the Royals, and finally the Dodgers... It's about time!

Congrats to Gossage. He should have gotten in the Hall of Fame before Bruce Sutter. Gossage might even get his #54 retired by the Yankees.

I think we have to face facts, baseball fans. The Hall of Fame is no longer a bastion of greatness. It's being filled up with journeymen and mediocre players whose only claim to fame is that they played for big-city teams, or stuck around long enough to put up some gaudy stats (see Don Sutton). It wasn't long ago that the Hall was filled with the true stars, Mays, Aaron, Ruth, Ted Williams, Mathewson, Johnson, Young. Now it's being cluttered with Ashburn and Billy Williams, Carter and Sutton. The HOF is being rendered almost irrlelevant. So sure, let Goose in and don't forget a little Rice with that Goose. And hey, McGwire hit a gazillion HR's, don't forget him. And the ushers at the ballparks, let's get a wing for them too. And the ladies at the concession stands, the ground crews, etc., etc., etc. It makes me mad what they've done to the Hall.

Finally Goose got in, his stint with the Padres and the Yankees was very impressive.
