As far as the exterior of the seats, Ford (and most other brands) currently uses a variety of cloths and leathers, as well as vinyl and a cloth-vinyl weave.

Samples are available at the dealership. You won't be allowed to take them home (unless perhaps they let you have a previous year's samples), but they will have a sample book so that you can see and feel that fabrics/leathers.

The main body of most car seats consists of a metal frame and foam cushioning.

I assume you are talking about the upholstery material and not the inside cushion, springs, metal and plastic.

Talk to an Auto Upholstery shop and ask for samples of their materials. I'm sure they have plenty of scrap pieces they will give you.
