How long does it take a 2.36 LB roast to cook at 375 F?
I put the roast in an hour ago. How long does it take to cook it? I also want to put some potatoes and carrots in with it to cook, when should I do that? Thanks guys and gals for helping this kitchen newbie.

Lower the temp to 350 or 325. Cook for 30 to 35 minutes per pound. I usually put the potatoes and carrots in when I start the roast.
The BEST way to cook a really good roast Is to use a roasting/cooking bag... you can find them in the area of the market that has the ziplock bags and then aluminum foil. You put in a tablespoon of flour, shake it so it coats the bag. Then put in your roast and then you potatoes and the carrots..... (I also put in onions.)
Another way is to use a dutch oven. And put in about a cup or two of water and the potatoes and carrots. Cook until the meat falls apart.

I would season and sear in a deep skillet. After it is brown on both sides I would add an inch or two of water in the bottom, as soon as the water starts to bubble a bit, cover with a tight lid and turn heat down to low. I would allow at leat an hour and a half if not two hours. A roast needs to be slow cooked to be tender. Water will cook down and if you want any veg don't add until the last 30 min of cooking.

Depends - Is it covered or uncovered? How done do you want it?
If it is a boneless roast, uncovered, it is probably done by now to about medium rare. Such a small roast you probably should have put the vegetables in from the beginning.
